Explore the Karen Wertheimer Butterfly Habitat at the Coastal Discovery Museum to learn about native butterflies, host plants, and nectar plants with the Coastal Discovery Museum's Manager of Natural History, Carlos Chacon.  This program will begin indoors with a presentation about local butterflies, their life cycle and natural history.  A guided visit of the butterfly habitat follows where participants can get up close and personal with all the four stages of the butterfly life cycle.  After the guided walk, participants will create their own personalized butterfly-wing bookmark.  Participants will take home a milkweed plants and a monarch caterpillar (optional).

These hands on, after hour classes are NEW in 2019.  Come learn about local, culture, and environment - from the experts - AND take home something that you helped create.  Minimum of 6 participants, maximum of 20 for all programs.

Appropriate for ages 10 and older.
