Join us for a grand opening celebration of our newest exhibit: Beyond the Oaks, which explores stories of the lowcountry plantations. This free and open to the public event will include a screening of the documentary film that accompanies the exhibit and a Q&A with the director, Drew Baron, and cinematographer, O’Neal Peterson.
Afterwards, there will be an interactive panel discussion with Shawn Halifax from McLeod Plantation Historic Site, Joseph McGill from The Slave Dwelling Project, and Beaufort author and former plantation docent Kim Poovey.
Stick around for a complementary guided tour of the exhibit at 3:00 pm with it’s curator, Kayleigh Vaughn.
