League of Women Voters Monthly Meeting in Honor of Women’s History Month

The League of Women Voters of Beaufort will host their monthly meeting March 12th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Beth Israel Synagogue, 401 Scott St, Beaufort.
In honor of Women’s History Month, the guest speaker will be fifth-generation Beaufortonian, Anne Christensen Pollitzer, who will share her story (“HERSTORY”) about her great grandmother, Beaufort County folklorist, educator, abolitionist, suffragist, Abbie Holmes Christensen. Abbie Christensen was a progressive force for women’s rights, black and white education, racial tolerance, and social welfare in South Carolina from the 1890s until her death in 1938.
League members and non-members are welcome to attend.
