Join us at the Coastal Discovery Museum as Refuge Manager Russ Webb talks about the Refuge. The Refuge is a sanctuary for approximately 22 species of migratory waterfowl that winter in coastal South Carolina. Three-thousand acres of former plantation rice fields are now actively managed by a series of water control structures, effectively serving as impoundments to provide feeding areas and sanctuary for waterfowl, shorebirds, wading birds, and other wildlife.
Cost is $7 per person and reservations are required by calling 843-689-6767 ext. 223.
