May 5 – 11 is Hurricane Preparedness Week. To ensure the community is educated, the Town of Bluffton’s Emergency Management Division is offering two educational classes on reparing yourself, family and property if a hurricane were to strike. Both classes are comprised of the same information but are offered on different dates to accommodate those who want to attend.

Information to be covered during the presentations includes lessons learned from past storms, evacuation routes, procedures during an evacuation, how to develop a plan for evacuation, as well as answer questions the public may have.

“We want the community to have as much information as possible when it comes to keeping their family safe. These classes are a perfect opportunity to have new and old community members ask questions,” said Bluffton Police Chief Chris Chapmond.

For those interested in attending either of the classes, please RSVP to Joy Nelson at [email protected] specifying which class you would like to attend.
