A Hilton Head Island Honeymoon Itinerary
Day One – Welcome to Hilton Head Island
Accommodations on Hilton Head Island range from luxury resorts and intimate boutique hotels to cozy rental properties and villas overlooking the Atlantic. Choose from lively Harbour Town, the secluded Shipyard area, friendly Forest Beach and luxurious townhouses and villas facing the ocean or fairways. Once you arrive on Hilton Head Island, check in at any one of our wonderful properties so you can experience the culture, nightlife and beauty that abound in this romantic island!
Start your honeymoon off with a champagne toast and chocolate-covered strawberries, as many of our resorts offer amenity packages upon your arrival. Then, take the evening to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze and a candlelit dinner on your balcony.
Day Two – Time for Rest, Relaxation and Romance
Take a sunrise walk on the beach, have breakfast poolside and then spend the day at the spa, enjoying his-and-her massages, rejuvenating facials and other pampering treatments, followed by a spa lunch. Ask your hotel to help you arrange a romantic sunset sail across Calibogue Sound, complete with a wine and cheese picnic basket. Return to the marina and enjoy live music and a nightcap under the stars.
Day Three – Activities and Adventures for Two
Today starts with breakfast in bed as you watch the sun rise to greet another day in this Island paradise. Once you’re ready to leave the comforts of your honeymoon hotel, explore all of the activities the Island has to offer.
Whatever your game, Hilton Head Island is likely to play it. Tennis buffs can take to any one of the Island’s more than 350 courts. Golfers have a choice of more than 30 championship courses in the Hilton Head Island area. Equestrians can horseback ride on guided trails, while spectators can catch spring or fall polo matches, or go for a bike ride (on a bicycle built for two?) on the miles upon miles of spectacular trails. On nature walks you may see a variety of birds, animals and marine life such as the snowy egret, sea turtles or even bottlenose dolphins cavorting in the surf.
With miles of sand dunes and blue waters, Hilton Head Island is ideal for sunbathers, sandcastle builders and swimmers. Water sports include boating, fishing, sailing, kayaking and canoeing. No need to bring your own equipment–there are beach equipment rentals all along the beach.
From the many Island marinas you can enjoy historic cruises and scenic tours.
In the evening, dine overlooking the ocean, the marshland, or on the river at any one of the Island’s romantic restaurants. Complete the evening by watching a Broadway-style performance on stage at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina.
Day Four – Touring Day
If you’re feeling energetic, check out the gift shop atop the Harbour Town lighthouse. Tour the historic Heyward House, the official visitor’s center for Bluffton’s historic district, and visit an eclectic collection of shops along Calhoun Street. End the day with a great traditional southern meal at one of Bluffton’s or Hilton Head’s local restaurants.
Final Day
Leaving our treasured Island will be hard to do, but we hope your visit to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina will be the perfect beginning for your life together.
