June Hilton Head Island Weather
Summer touches down on Hilton Head Island during June, and the warmer ocean waters welcome groups seeking the ultimate retreat.
One of the sunnier months on the Island, daily maximum temperatures soar into the high 80s—even the low 90s—creating the ideal conditions for watersports, long bike rides with the family and waterfront dining al fresco.
Check out returning resident, the Loggerhead Sea Turtle, along the Island's beaches (remember, lights off after 10pm). Kick off two months of Island festivities with Harbor Fest at Shelter Cove Harbour. Participate in a local tradition with Sunday brunch and mimosas. June is the perfect time to get out and experience the magic of Hilton Head in the early summer.
Warmer weather also brings wetter weather. Even though most of the month will be sunny, account for a day or two of warm rain during your stay as June averages 10 days of rain. Check the forecast and plan some indoor activities. Hit the shops, take in a movie, plan a spa visit or relax on the patio with a cocktail or glass of sweet tea.
Throw on your shades, you’re in for some sun. There are approximately 65 percent more daylight hours during June, meaning more beach days and poolside drinks. And, with 14 hour days, there’s plenty of time to see and do all that Hilton Head has to offer. Sunsets in June tend to be gorgeous. So, be prepared to grab a shot or two during your evening beach walk.
As the summer temperatures increase on Hilton Head Island, the humidity also rises to near 89 percent each morning, dropping to 55 percent by the afternoon. Pack light, you won’t need much more than shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops in June on Hilton Head Island.
