Things to Do on Hilton Head Island and in Bluffton in July
July is the first official full month of summer and we are excited for all the month has to offer on Hilton Head Island! The weather is hot, the sun is shining, and there are so many activities to experience. There are many reasons to celebrate too; we have vacations, fireworks and Independence Day! We’ve put together a list of this month’s must-do events on Hilton Head Island and in Bluffton.
4th of July Weekend at the Tiki Hut
July 4-7, The Tiki Hut

Celebrate Independence Day with a weekend of live music on the beach, fire performers, specialty competitions, and many more celebratory activities. There’s no better way to celebrate than on the beach. Get in the spirit and come sing along to some awesome tunes!
Sunset Celebration Summer Concerts
Every Friday until August 16, 7-10 p.m., Shelter Cove Community Park
Get ready for Friday evenings filled with musical talent and entertainment. Head down to Shelter Cove Community Park at Shelter Cove Towne Centre for a great dinner by the water. Then, position your beach chairs or blankets to enjoy the entertainment, live music and beautiful sunset. This month’s featured artists are Cranford Hollow on July 5, Target the Band on July 12, Lowcountry Boil on July 19, and The Headliners on July 26. The whole family is sure to have a great night at the Sunset Celebration Summer Concerts.
Butterfly Discovery
Every Tuesday at 3 p.m. and every Friday at 11 a.m. until August 30, Coastal Discovery Museum
Discover the world of butterflies! The Coastal Discovery Museum will allow you to get up close and personal with the numerous species of beautiful butterflies. Learn the life cycle stages of a butterfly, how to protect them, what they need to survive, and the challenges they face in nature. Enter the butterfly enclosure and experience firsthand the magic of these delicate creatures. If you’re lucky, one may even land on your hand!
Wine Down Wednesdays
Every Wednesday until August 28th, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Tanger Outlets Hilton Head (Tanger 2)
Looking for something to do on a Wednesday evening? Tanger Outlets hosts Wine Down Wednesdays, every Wednesday from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. The event is for those 21 and older and admission is $10, but includes two glasses of wine provided by Lucky Rooster Kitchen + Bar. Looking to bring home a new four-legged friend? A portion of the proceeds from the event are donated back to the Hilton Head Humane Association who will also be on hand with adorable, adoptable pups.Enjoy live acoustic music and a comfortable seat on the Adirondack chairs after browsing the exclusive deals and promotions offered by retailers.
Movie Night in the Park
Every Thursday until August 15, 9 p.m., Shelter Cove Community Park
Looking for a fun, free event to do with the kids? Movie night in the park is a perfect activity to do on a warm summer's night. Get your blankets and chairs ready and head down to the park located in Shelter Cove Towne Centre to watch your favorites. The July lineup has some classics in the queue, with Jurassic Park on July 11, Top Gun on July 18, and Frozen on July 25.
Henry Cho
Monday, July 15, two shows: 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., Arts Center of Coastal Carolina
Henry Cho is described as ‘charmingly hilarious’. This American comedian is known for his appearances on NBC’s The Tonight Show, CBS’s The Late Show, and more Henry works in such a diverse spread of shows; with his clean comedy he will be sure to have you laughing on July 15. In the meantime, check out his one-hour Comedy Central Special on Netflix titled: “What’s That Clickin Noise.”
HarbourFest Fireworks at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina
Every Tuesday at dusk, Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina

Join in the fun at HarbourFest’s 31st annual summertime fireworks! This summer-long celebration is sure to bring a sparkle to your vacation every Tuesday evening, weather permitting Note: there is no show on Tuesday, July 2. It’s been moved to Thursday, July 4 where steel drums, bouncy houses, face painting and live music will provide 4th of July fun for everyone.
